ZapMuten, Metis and Sofia Casanova will be representing Ouzo at SOCO Festival (12-17 dec) Uruguay !! ... Visit SOCO's website and facebook page to find out all the details about this event, with a line up that combines reknowned international artists with up and coming names.

We would also like to share with you a video of a jam by Metis and Yoryi Mala Bizta from Cuba, killing it live at the Ouzo Session last October 28th. These video was recorded at said event in Montevideo, the song is a combination of "Cuando Menos lo Esperabas" by Maíma (previous band of some Metis members) and the lyrics of "Fuck the VIP" by Yoryi Mala Bizta. Enjoy !

16/09/2011 SEPTEMBER / [ouzo29] Available Now ! METIS, new artist...

After months without any actual release we have the pleasure of presenting you a new and promising artist which makes its record debut on the label. Release number twenty nine is by the brand new band/project Metis with their first EP titled "Sessions Vol.I Antropofagia". This EP contains three original tracks and remixes by none other than Ouzo's very own Martin Teysera aka. Martin TC (ex-Monoblock) and Mateo Dellepiane aka. Ghetto Expressions.

This is the first Ouzo release to include a print ready PDF file with the album art in high resolution, these means that with just a printer and a cd jewel case you can assemble a brand new Metis album.

15/12/2010 DECEMBER / January 12, Ouzo at Punta del Diablo

The Ouzo roster will be playing live on January 12 of 2011 at Punta del Diablo, a beach town located in the "Deartamento de Rocha", 300 kilometers from Montevideo. Please read the following press release for more details... in a few days, full line up and more information.

" OUZO PRESENTS: SEVEN YEARS / 29 RELEASES

Ouzo will be playing live this January at “El Pico-Punta del Diablo” , celebrating its seventh birthday and its twenty-ninth release.

Besides being since 2004 the first Uruguayan netlabel, Ouzo brings together a group of independent musicians whose link with one another was born out of the practice of certain production techniques spawned by new and old technologies alike, and of course out of their insatiable hunger for music of all genres.

During this seven years the label has shown its presence in countries such as Germany, Spain, France, USA, Switzerland, Brazil, Colombia or Venezuela, among others.

"Seven Years - 29 Releases " will be an event which you dont want to miss when enjoying this summer season in Uruguay, the eclecticism and quality which are Ouzo's brand, are of course guaranteed. "

For those who missed last Mondays show with Uwe Schmidt (aka Atom), you have a chance to see a similar performance but this time with some new flavors and in the context of the urban art-meets cinema- meets music cycle called PUNTOMOV.

As the heat returns to the city of Montevideo, so does the labels temperature rise with big news on the years last months...

Two new releases are on the horizon before years end, and on top of that, we are honoured to announce that an ensemble of Ouzo artists will be playing as the support act of Uwe Schmidt (aka. AtomTM, Flanger, Los Samples, Surtek Collective or Señor Coconut... just naming a few of his projects) who has always been a very big influence on the label.

On Friday 23 of April we will be having an Ouzo Session at "La Penultima", a club located in 26 de Marzo and Pereira de La Luz, Montevideo, Uruguay. As always a wide array of styles will be present with the music of Matias Muten, Tinitus, DJ PVS1, Metis, Z@p and the visual tricks provided by Sofia Casanova aka. K-Beats. After a brief delay we are happy to present our first release of 2010, "Tinitus y Willow presentan: El Propio Estilo", an album created in tight collaboration between Tinitus and his long time partner, the mysterious character known as "Willow". In "...El Propio Estilo" these artists devour the south american "cumbia" genre, mixing it with varying amounts of IDM, Glith, Abstract Hip Hop and many other genres of electronic music. Digital Cumbia ? Labels aside, "El Propio Estilo" deserves to be listened with attention. As a bonus, you will find the beatiful cover art by Maria Calvario, a uruguayan visual artist.

26/01/2010 January / New dates, announcements and release

After a brief recess due to the holidays and the summer season, we are back in track kicking off 2010 with the soon to be released [ouzo27]...

..."Tinitus y Willow presentan: El Propio Estilo ", a new EP which showcases a deconstruction of the "cumbia" genre, filtered through styles such as glitch, IDM and experimental electronica.

This album, available in February, marks a change in our release schedule. From now on we will be releasing bi-monthly albums, that makes 6 releases during 2010, and of course you can always expect a little surprise. This change is due to our plans to re start the organization of Ouzo events, which was put on a stop during the last year.

Besides this new announcements, some of the Ouzo artists are playing throughout the uruguayan coast and Monoblock takes its music to two of the most important clubs in Europe (Watergate in Berlin and Fabric in London) !

05/10/2009 NEW RELEASE / [ouzo26] "La Montaña de los Sueños Lucidos"

As of today you can download [ouzo26] by Claudio, "La Montaña de los Sueños Lucidos", a mini release which includes two tracks that show a whole new style from this producer, previously known for his work in genres such as techno and house. In this new release Claudio shows traces of his work as dubmaster for the band Maíma, and the album even includes Juan Manuel "Mara" Haran (guitar player for Maíma) as a guest artist. 25/05/2009 NEW LIVE SET BY Z@P / Z@P+MUTEN INVOLVED IN WATERLOOP

A couple of news which were present in our newsletter but werent published yet in the page....

- Matias Muten and Z@p are part of the group of artists gathered under the "Waterloop" project, which strives to raise consciousness on the global problem of water shortage, through the use of music and visuals. To read more about the project check them out on MySpace.

- Last month a new edition of the "Good Vibes" party took place in Montevideo, the live set by Z@p is available now as a free download, more than 2 hours of techno, house and much more. Download now.

28/04/2009 [OUZO24] AVAILABLE / Double album by Abdul !

The second release of the year is finally available, marking the return of the first artist to be edited by Ouzo. Twenty three releases later, Abdul (formerly Abdul Hazel Ramallah) returns with [ouzo24] "Wu-Wei / En La Floresta", the first double album released by the label. Download it now and enjoy 20 tracks which merge sensible electronics, indie, glitch, IDM, bossa nova, acoustic instruments, toys which make sound, all kinds of found obejcts and the mute, but no less important sensibility, of a dog from the Costa de Oro (*).
